A colourful acrylic art print featuring a dysregulated version of Stoaggie the Stoner Froggie, exploring alexithymia, nervous system overwhelm, and the feeling of not realizing you are overheating until everything is already bubbling over.
What’s Happening? is an art print of an original acrylic painting featuring a version of Stoaggie the Stoner Froggie — ritual leader of chill vibes, snack conjurer, and soft chaos familiar.
But even Stoaggie gets dysregulated.
This piece explores emotional dysregulation, nervous system overwhelm, and living with alexithymia — the difficulty of recognizing, naming, or understanding what you are feeling.
The bright, chaotic colours represent the noise of the brain and body when every sense feels activated at once. Stoaggie sits in a cauldron that is slowly heating up, unaware of the rising temperature until it is already too much.
It is playful, a little morbid, and deeply honest.
This painting came from the feeling of being overwhelmed without fully knowing why. The moment when your body is sending signals, your nervous system is escalating, and your brain is just sitting there asking:
What’s happening?
It is for anyone who has experienced emotional overwhelm, sensory overload, shutdown, meltdown, or the strange disconnect of not realizing how dysregulated you are until you are already boiling over.
A small, colourful reminder that being “chill” does not mean you are never overwhelmed.
Sometimes even the ritual leader of chill vibes needs to notice the heat, climb out of the cauldron, and take one deep swampy breath.
